Money Saving Tips: Redoing Your Teens Room? Shop the Yard and Garage Sales!

Teen like being unique and there is no better opportunity to allow them to be so that in their own space, with their own stuff. But obtaining that stuff can be costly! In our home we have offset some of that cost by refurbishing and creating useful things from attic, garage sale or yard sale finds. Think of it this way, a wood lamp can cost you anywhere from $25 to $60 dollars at a furniture store - not including the shade. You can get a workable lamp for $2-$5 at a yard sale and paint it and cover the shade for another $5-$10. That is a $10 to $20 savings and your teen has made something that is unique to themselves.

Start Your Own Home business

Start Your Own Home business

A home business is considered by many to be a ‘dream’ business. Not always!

In this post, we will talk about the advantages of starting a home business:

Stay at home and earn too!

With the rising cost of fuel, people are starting to favor the joy of working in the comfort of their own home. No need to worry about heavy traffic, getting stuck at traffic lights, rush hour, road blocks or lame excuses for being late for work. In other words, your home will be your base of operations and also your fortress of solitude as well.

You don’t need paper, pens, make up or even clothes!

Paper is so 80’s. When you can do everything in a paperless environment, you don’t need file cabinets. It’s all on the computer or on the net. You can operate your business in your p j’s. You do not need to spend a fortune on make up or your aching feet because of wearing high heels. Home businesses may be ‘virtual’ but the money and lifestyle is REAL. You are working to achieve the lifestyle you want.

You don’t have to work alone and you do not need employees

You don’t have to deal with pesky staff. Just operate everything you need from home. You can get authors from India, Philippines, Malaysia or any part of the world. It’s the virtual world and you can connect with the rest of the world from your computer. And best of all, if they do not perform, you can ‘fire’ them and get someone else who suits you better. The ACLU will never know. It is truly your business.

Sell on line and get your money on line safely

Meeting people in the real world or virtually is good, but if you are the shy type who had rather not try to close a sale in person or collect money from a non-paying customer, then by all means, stay comfortable behind your computer screen and run an Internet business! Sales letters do a fine job of getting sales and payment processors automate everything by collecting money for you. It’s a beautiful life and you can do it.

Work at your own pace

Now you can finally talk to your kids and even your spouse in the morning or have tea with them. The thing I like best is being able to turn in a different direction than the people going to work. While they join the herd, we go to play golf. You dictate your time and you dictate your own hours. No longer is one confined to a 9-5 routine and being forced to eat lunch when your ‘boss’ dictates it. You are the boss. Fire the other one.

There are all types of work at home scams out there and you need to do your due diligence

before you send them your money to “get involved.” You are trying to make money and not give it away before you have made any. MLM’s are good and much easier now than ever before. There are seldom any meetings to attend and you do not need to stock inventory you have paid for and are trying to sell.

Frankie wants you to be excited about the possibility of you ‘downsizing your boss before he ‘downsizes’ you due to the economy. However, please do not run out and invest in the business which is selling shares in a unicorn ranch. We will recommend a couple of possibilities for you next time.
